Welcome to our staff registration page!
The Texas state meet has grown to be one of the best events in the country. It is a huge testament to everyone involved, including the unsung hero’s of the event – our volunteer staff! As this event has grown, we need to expand our operations to keep up with that growth. Please feel free to register for our Event Staff, Competition Secretary, or Head Loader roles. All requirements and compensation are listed below.
Event Staff Requirements:
- Top Priorities
- Venue setup Thursday afternoon/evening
- Must work as a TO or Loader in the first 2 sessions on Friday
- Exception is session 2 lifter; must work session 3
- Secondary Priorities
- Total of 3 sessions on Friday
- Total of 3 sessions on Saturday
- Total of 2 sessions on Sunday
- Venue load out
- Exceptions
- Not Required to work the session before you lift
- Work requirement reduced by 1 session the day you lift
- Compensation
- Max $500
- Must meet all above priorities
- Compensation reduced by $500 if both Top Priorities are not met
- Compensation reduced by $100 for each Secondary Priority not met
- Max $500
Please note TO assignments will be assigned by Competition Secretary. Loading assignments will be assigned by head loader.
Selection Process:
- Group TOs by Category
- IWF Cat 1
- IWF Cat 2
- National
- LWC
- Separate Grouping for Loaders Only
- Start filling spots from IWF Cat 1 then move down the list
- Random drawing if we get to a category with more individuals than spots
Head Loader
Requirements:
- Ensure all loader roles are filled by properly qualified individuals for all sessions
- Ability to train loaders on how to use 2.5kg collars
- Not part of Event Staff
Compensation:
- $500
Selection Process:
- Interview with members of the Texas Weightlifting Championships selection committee
Competition Secretary
Requirements:
Ensure all TO roles are filled by properly qualified individuals for all sessionsCommunicate with all TOs and loaders before and during the eventAble to identify and recruit individuals last minute to fill unexpected gapsKnowledge of the scoring systemAbility to teach and train individualsAbility to be second level of escalationFirst level of escalation will come from operations teamEscalate to Event Direct as needed
